Meetings with local municipalities in Georgia

Municipal mayors and heads of Sakrebulo from Tsalenjikha, Senaki, Chokhatauri, Keda, Ambrolauri, Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki, Tetritskaro, Marneuli and Lagodekhi discussed future cooperation issues including the sustainability of the centers, the implementation of joint initiatives, funding and more with DVVI.

In March 2018, a DVV International team consisting of the Regional Director for Caucasus, Turkey and South-East Europe, Maja Avramovska, the Georgian Country Director Lali Santeladze and the Project Coordinator Dato Jikia paid introductory visits to the in autumn 2017 newly elected local self-government representatives of those ten Georgian municipalities where DVVI established Adult Education Centers are currently operating.

Municipal mayors and heads of Sakrebulo from Tsalenjikha, Senaki, Chokhatauri, Keda, Ambrolauri, Akhaltsikhe, Akhalkalaki, Tetritskaro, Marneuli and Lagodekhi discussed future cooperation issues including the sustainability of the centers, the implementation of joint initiatives, funding and more with DVVI. Both parties agreed that the success of future cooperation is ensured and guaranteed by the fruitful collaboration of recent years.

The DVVI guests cordially invited the heads of the municipalities to take part in a Study Trip to Germany in June, where newly elected and reelected local leaders and directors of Adult Education Centers will have the chance to closely examine German experience and share their own.
