Transforming to the Next Normal in Education

The event "Covid-19 – Vocational Education and New Normal" was organised by DVV International Georgia Country Office on October 15. Among the participants were the representatives of the DVV International Georgia Country Office, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia (MoESCS), and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE).

The "Covid-19 – Vocational Education and New Normal" event was organised by DVV International Georgia Country Office and held at The Terrace Hotel on October 15. The workshop was led by the Analyst, Concept Designer, and Crypto-Evangelist David Kiziria, who, at DVV International's request, has prepared a digitalization strategy for education that the state can apply in crisis and post-crisis situations. Among the participants were the representatives of the DVV International Georgia Country Office, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia (MoESCS), and the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement (NCEQE).

The workshop aimed to provide an overview of global megatrends, the educational system, the latest challenges and approaches activated as a result of Covid19, and the future of education in Georgia and focusing on specialists involved in policy development.
Mr. Kiziria shared recommendations for transforming lives in the real world using virtual and augmented reality resources, identifying development alternatives based on several mega-factors and analysis, and developing a strategy for digital transformation in the educational system not only in establishing new technologies and enriching business processes through them but also, transforming the system at the level of a radical, business model. Other recommendations were to modernize regulations according to the new vocational education business model and adopt policies to encourage innovation.

Participants expressed interest and readiness to cooperate in the future and to involve stakeholders in developing new business models and regulations.
