On Monday, 6th of July, the Chamber of Economy of Sarajevo Canton (Bosnia and Herzegovina) hosted a kick-off meeting of the project „Establishing a network of governmental and non-governmental actors in the field of adult education in Sarajevo Canton“ to be implemented by DVV International – Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Association for Local Developmental Initiatives ALDI.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, many adult education providers, representatives of the Employment Service of Sarajevo Canton, employers, and secondary schools from Sarajevo Canton. All participants expressed a high interest in participating in the establishment of the functional partnership between public, private, and civil sectors in developing skills of adults, which is crucial for the successful implementation of policies and efforts of all actors in the field of lifelong learning and adult education.
The project foresees the establishment of institutional cooperation between public, private, and civil sectors in the field of adult education in Sarajevo Canton, one of twelve administrative units of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as defining the needs of the partnership and strengthening institutional capacities of the partners in adult education.
This is the second network of relevant actors in the field of adult education established in Bosnia and Herzegovina so far, and by the end of 2020 DVV International - Country Office Bosnia and Herzegovina will initiate and support establishment of the third such network in Brčko District B&H.
