In December 2024, DVV International reached a significant milestone in Georgia’s adult education landscape by opening the 15th Adult Learning and Education (ALE) Center — this time in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, at the Tserovani settlement, home to internally displaced persons.

With this final addition, DVV International has now established at least one ALE center in every region of Georgia, fulfilling a long-term goal that began in 2006 with the opening of the first two centers in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region. What started as a pilot has grown into a nationwide network of 15 centers — a visible and powerful result of DVV International’s sustained commitment, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

The opening in Tserovani was held modestly and respectfully, reflecting the tense political atmosphere in the country at the time, marked by mass public protests. In attendance were Mr. Thomas Lichtenberg, DVV International Regional Director for the Caucasus and Southeast Europe; Ms. Lali Santeladze, Country Director for Georgia; Ms. Nana Chkareuli, Director of the new ALE center and representatives of local partner CSOs.

The Mtskheta-Mtianeti ALE Center will officially begin operations in January 2025, continuing the shared mission to make adult education accessible, relevant and empowering.
