In July-October 2023, a group of faculty representing Yerevan State University (YSU) and Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU) attended the DVV-offered course on "Basics of adult learning and education: teaching methodology” based on the Curriculum Global Standard recognized by UNESCO. About 60 interested faculty members from both  universities attended the launch of the course on July 4, of whom approximately 40 took part in the online part of the course. 19 of these participants were able to successfully complete the online part thus becoming eligible for the final one-week offline session.

The 12-week course consists of five online and one face to face modules as well as the preparation and presentation of training course program based on the material studied.

On October 4-8, during the face to face phase of the course, the trainees had the opportunity to participate in various activities and teaching methods, interactive lectures, simulation games, as well as practically apply the acquired theoretical knowledge. Training programs developed by the participants were evaluated both by trainers and by peer trainees. As a result, the participants who completed the 12-week course and defended the training program received certificates of successfully completing the course.

This year, the ToT was endorsed by YSU as a faculty capacity building course with 2-4 credits assigned to the online and full course respectively. Those YSU faculty members that completed one or both parts of the course will be eligible to receiving YSU credits.

The course was developed and piloted in 2020-2021. Тhis year, the course was fully adapted and implemented by Armenian trainers Lusine Kharatyan, Serob Khachatryan, Lusine Poghosyan, Gayane Harutyunyan who were trained in this program in previous years.

To ensure course continuity contacts will be established with selected partner universities to discuss prospects and opportunities for cooperation.
