On 17-22 July 2018 DVVI Georgia Country Office hosted a delegation of colleagues from Tajikistan. The purpose of the study trip was to learn about the Georgian experience in establishing and running Adult Education Centers (AECs) in the country.
The Tajik delegation included the DVVI Tajikistan Country Director and representatives of local non-governmental organisations working in the field of Adult Education (AE). During the 4-day visit, participants met and shared experiences with DVVI Georgia Country Office and the Georgian Adult Education Network (GAEN), and discussed the main steps, successes, and challenges of the project “AE Centers in Georgia.” They paid visits to 3 AE centers in Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, and Samegrelo regions, observed the everyday activities of the centers, and met with the AECs’management, beneficiaries, and local authorities. In addition, the participants were offered a sightseeing and cultural programme.

“The visit was very useful and motivating. We have learned a lot and will apply the knowledge and experience gained in Georgia in the process of establishing similar institutions in our country.
