On April 15, 2025, the certification ceremony of master trainers within the framework of the program "Global Curriculum for Adult Learning and Education – Curriculum globALE" was held at the premises of the Faculty of Education, University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”.
The Curriculum globALE program aims to strengthen the professional capacities of teachers and trainers working in the field of adult education by contributing to the improvement of teaching quality and lifelong learning through contemporary content and international methodologies. As part of this program, 12 participants successfully completed the modular training for master trainers, based on the international curriculum for training of trainers and educators in adult education.
According to Prof. Naser Zabeli, coordinator of the Curriculum globALE project at the Faculty of Education in Pristina, the program has been accredited by the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) and is implemented through a practical approach that prioritizes hands-on field experience over theory. The master trainer candidates were actively involved in implementing the training modules for which they were responsible, going through all the practical phases of teaching and assessment.
Meanwhile, Ms. Fikrije Zymberi, Director General of the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (AVETAE), expressed her appreciation to all those present, particularly to the representative of DVV International, Mr. Ramadan Alija, as the main supporter of adult education in the country. She emphasized that Curriculum globALE, since its inception in 2014–2015, has demonstrated both continuity and significant relevance, while the certification of master trainers stands as evidence of the program’s commitment and sustainable development. She added that the lack of andragogues in Kosovo remains a challenge, but the presence of trained experts represents a valuable opportunity to expand the professional network and contribute directly to strengthening institutional capacities.
Mr. Ramadan Alija, Director of the DVV International office in Kosovo, shared the journey of Curriculum globALE in the country, emphasizing that thanks to the dedication and close collaboration with the Faculty of Education, the program has been successfully integrated into this institution. The certification of Master Trainers represents a significant achievement and an important step toward building capacities in the field of adult education. He highlighted that, through the training of trainers, concrete opportunities are created to strengthen the capacities of relevant institutions across various areas of education and adult learning in Kosovo.
Despite the challenges, the Curriculum globALE program guarantees its continuity and sustainability within the Faculty of Education. One of the challenges that remains to be addressed is the recognition of non-formal education and the evaluation of credits earned through this program by higher education institutions.
