On November 28, DVV International Armenia initiated a stakeholder meeting to ensure participatory discussion of main items and issues to be included in Armenia’s national report contributing to GRALE.
Since 2009, UNESCO has been publishing the Global Reports on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE), which are developed on the basis of national reports submitted by the education ministries of member states. These reports serve as an important tool for analyzing global trends, challenges, and achievements in the field of adult learning and education (ALE), as well as for improving policies.
The meeting was attended by Karine Dadayan, Head of the Division for Supplementary and Continuing Education at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, Ashot Sahradyan, Deputy Director of the National Center for Vocational Education and Training Development, representatives of Adult Learning and Education (ALE) centers funded by DVV International, ALE experts, and representatives of key stakeholder organizations.
The session ensured participatory discussion of the state of on ALE in Armenia, including challenges and achievements resulting in provision of comprehensive and credible information to the questionnaire entries.
In the second part of the meeting, the DVV supported Adult Education and Learning (AEL) Network met for an end of year session to discuss and reach agreements on a number of key issues critical for finalizing the Network’s concept.
During the meeting, Network members discussed a number of key issues, focusing on further opportunities for the Network’s expansion and its coordination mechanisms, effective communication, information sharing, and the active engagement of members. Specific topics of discussion included the establishment and key functions of a Coordinating Council, as well as the determination and registration of Network’s legal status.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the AEL Network member organizations, as well as invited expert Arpine Mazhinyan, who will reflect the outcomes of the discussion the final version of the Network Concept. The feedback and recommendation received from participants will serve as a foundation for the AEL Network’s activities, contributing to strengthened collaboration and joint actions among network members.
