Arpine Mazhinyan, an ALE expert from Armenia is attending the ALE Academy at Würzburg University, Germany. On February 10 Ms. Mazhinyan presented her thematic comparative analysis of two research projects on UNESCO’s Learning Cities in Armenia. The initial research was conducted by mixed faculty-student groups of Yerevan State University, following which Ms. Mazhinyan has compared the two methodologies and results, provided recommendations.

The Adult Education Academy 2026 had been designed as an intensive blended-learning program for master’s and doctoral students, as well as colleagues from the field of adult and continuing education. It had comprised an online preparatory phase, a two-week intensive program conducted on-site in Würzburg.

Since its launch in 2014, the Academy had promoted international networks in adult education and lifelong learning, fostering a strong connection between academic learning and professional practice. During the preparatory phase and the two-week intensive program, participants had developed and refined their analytical and comparative skills within an international learning environment. They had gained deeper insight into internationally relevant educational policies in the context of lifelong learning, while strengthening their communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

The program had included thematic work on international strategies in adult education and lifelong learning, engagement with key theoretical perspectives, collaborative comparative group work, and field visits to adult education providers.
