Participation of two representatives from DVV International – Office in Kosovo at the Adult Education Academy 2026 in Würzburg

From 2 to 13 February 2026, two representatives of DVV International – Office in Kosovo, Ms. Merita Shala, Project Coordinator and Fundraising Researcher, and Ms. Mevlude Pacolli, Project Assistant, participated in the Adult Education Academy 2026, held at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg in Germany.

The Academy brought together professionals and students from various countries around the world and represents one of the most important international platforms for comparative studies in adult education and lifelong learning, providing space for academic dialogue, sharing of experiences, and international collaboration.

The two-week program combined academic lectures with practical work and field activities. During the first week, participants explored global and European frameworks of adult education policies, the role of international organizations, reform processes, and the importance of lifelong learning for sustainable development. Participants attended lectures delivered by field experts and took part in visits to educational institutions and professional organizations in Germany, where they had the opportunity to learn from their practices and discuss possibilities for implementation in different national contexts.

As part of the good practice exchange, the representatives from Kosovo presented the implementation journey of Curriculum globALE in Kosovo, highlighting the institutional recognition of the program, its impact on capacity building, and its contribution to professionalizing adult educators.

The second week was dedicated to comparative group work on thematic areas, where participants addressed topics such as adult education policy development, inclusion and equality, digital transformation, curriculum development, and community-based learning. Through comparative analysis, they identified common challenges, compared national practices, and exchanged innovative approaches that could be adapted in their respective countries.

Participation in the Academy offered valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange, professional networking, and reflection on international practices in adult education. The program provided a well-organized and rewarding experience, creating an important platform for dialogue and international collaboration. The knowledge and skills gained contribute to professional development and offer new perspectives for reflection on best practices and approaches in adult education.
