Implementation of Curriculum ManagerALE in Georgia
In modern reality, organizations have to exist in a dynamic environment, where the pace of change is
faster than ever, therefore, in order to respond to challenges, development should become a
continuous process for managers - it is important to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, acquire
new knowledge and skills, and apply them in practice.
This is what the product Curriculum ManagerALE developed by DVV International serves - a curriculum
based on modal competences, which ensures equipping the managers of adult education centers with
the necessary competences for the effective management of the organization. Curriculum ManagerALE
is interconnected with the family of global curricula - Curriculum globALE (which, aimed at the
professionalization of adult educators, this product is recognized by UNESCO and is a certification
program worldwide) and Curriculum InstitutionALE (which is a reference framework for institutional
strengthening of organizations of adult learning and education centers and therefore serves to manage
organizational change and develop organizational capacity).
DVV International Georgia started implementation of Curriculum ManagerALE in February 2024 and
continued for 2 months. 14 adult education centers established by DVV International in 9 regions of
Georgia - their heads and coordinators of educational projects were involved in the program.
All six modules of Curriculum ManagerALE were provided as trainings to the participants. The program
consists of such important and noteworthy topics as:
Module 1: Basic knowledge of adult learning and education, and lifelong learning
Module 2: Needs Assessment and Strategic Planning
Module 3: Internal Management and Leadership Skills and Competencies
Module 4: Networking and Collaboration
Module 5: Financial Management
Module 6: Monitoring and Evaluation
Providing information on the mentioned topics was interesting and various methods and tools were
used: presentation, group work, individual assignments, case discussion, brainstorming, practical
examples, energizers and role-playing games.
Curriculum ManagerALE trainings contributed to accumulation of knowledge and experience,
improvement of qualifications and skills and acquisition of new attitudes among the participants, which
they will use in the process of managing the organization. As a result of the program, all fourteen
centers started working on long-term strategic plans.
