In October one more seminar was conducted with participation of 12 municipalities from Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Kakheti, Achara, Racha-Lechkhumi, Samegrelo, Guria and Imereti regions. The seminar was leaded by our colleague from DVVI Bosnia-Hercegovina, Doctor Emir Avdagic. Programme of the workshop was develop by Dr. Avdagic based on the results of the Survey ”Awareness on Adult Education and Lifelong Learning among the Local Municipality Representatives” undertaken by DVVI Georgia earlier this year. The following topics were identified and discussed with the participants: Adult Education: Definition, Importance, Functions and Forms; Adult Education: Definition, Importance, Functions and Forms; System of Adult Education: Examples from Germany, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; Adult Education centers as a Tool for Development of Local Communities. Special attention was given to practical exercises: with the help of Dr.Avdagic the participants made SWOT Analysis  of the existing situation in AE sector in regions (Local Communities as an Environment of Adult Education Organizations) and discussed potential ways of increasing its scope. Municipality staff was given an opportunity to analyse the situation from the point of view of AE centers managers and this helped them a lot during the next session with tricky topic: Financing of Adult Education: Cost or Investment? Majority of participants underlined an importance of financing Education for Adults as it is a very important investment in sustainable development of regions and the whole  country.

All the participants evaluated the workshop as timely, highly professional and useful At the same time they identified topics and directions which might be useful to be included in capacity building programme  in the future.
