Capacity building of NGOs dealing with human rights and democratic citizenship, through professionalization of their human resources

DVV International (German Adult Education Association) in cooperation with Kosovo Non-Governmental Organization - KEC (Kosovo Education Center) from 12 to 15 December 2019 organized the Training of 30 Trainers from different NGOs dealing with human rights and democratic citizenship in Kosovo. Participants of these trainings were from different ethnic communities living in Kosovo, while the program used during these trainings was “Human Rights and Democratic Citizenship” based on the Council of Europe’s EDC HRE program.

Participation in this training and selection of participants was announced through an open call placed through Youth Centers and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and through cooperation with existing NGO networks (Civikos and KOMF). After receiving the applications from persons interested to attend the training, a commission composed of CSO representatives, KEC and DVV International staff selected 30 Trainers from different NGOs to take part in the Training. Priority for participating in this training was granted to Trainers from vulnerable groups and communities.  

The training module provided to participants in this training was a combination of Multicultural Education Program, the Council of Europe’s Human Rights and Democratic Citizenship Program and the Social Justice Education Program by International Step by Step Association. To ensure further dissemination of knowledge, skills and abilities, at the conclusion of the training, all participants were assigned specific tasks to be completed in their workplace, where they conduct their daily activities.

All training participants commented the training as very useful, and upon training completion rated the training with the maximum mark.
