DVV International (German Association for Adult Education) in cooperation with a non-governmental organization in Kosovo - KEC (Kosovo Education Center), has during the period of 10-18 December, organized the online training on "Education for active citizenship and human rights". These 10 training sessions involved about 25 participants, trainers of human rights and democratic citizenship, from all over Kosovo. The training for these attendees was provided under the EDC/HRE program of the Council of Europe.
The announcement for training attendance, and the selection of participants, were made through an open call, which was placed online on social networks, through Youth Centers and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
The training module offered to the participants in this training was a combination of programs - Multicultural Education, the program for human rights and democratic citizenship by the Council of Europe and the Education for Social Justice program by the International Step by Step Association. To ensure further dissemination of knowledge, skills and abilities, at the end of the training, all attendees were given specific tasks to do in their workplace, where they carry out their daily activities.
The purpose of this training was to increase the capacity of CSOs and young people to be active citizens and to promote human rights in society, as well as capacity building of teachers of social subjects, to enhance their teaching of key concepts of active citizenship in schools.
Participants were very satisfied with the training, viewed them as very useful and necessary sessions in this time of pandemic when nothing is working as it used to.
