As part of the “Short term (Modular) Program Development for Adult Learning, and use of such programs in six Competence Centers (CCs) and Secondary Vocational Schools (SVSs) in Kosovo”, on 21 December 2022, a workshop was held on the process of developing short-term (modular) programs for the vocations “Electrical Installation” and “Construction-Masonry”.

25 attendees of the workshop were representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), CCs and SVSs.

The presentation of the draft “Electrical Installation” Program was made by two experts hired by DVV International for the development of this new Adult Learning program, Mrs. Mendohije Krelani-Istogu and Mr. Menderes Veseli. Meanwhile, the draft program on “Construction-Masonry” was presented by two other experts hired by DVV International, Mr. Gëzim Bajraktari and Mr. Arbror Hetemi.

The four experts elaborated on the methods of developing each program, paying more attention to the contents of modules comprising the programs, duration of such programs, and the evaluation manners. The development process for the two programs is built upon findings and recommendations arising from a current situation overview of technical and professional capacities of CCs and SVSs, which had been presented on 9 November 2022.

After the presentation of the initial drafts of each program, a discussion took place between the attendees and experts engaged. There were also concrete recommendations for both programs, a few of which were related to the schedules of lessons to be held for each module; the age of attendees of courses from the programs developed; holding of more practical rather than theoretical classes; design of certificates, etc.

Otherwise, new AL program development, as part of a project implemented by the Agency for Vocational Education and Training and Adult Education (AVETAE), supported by DVV International, shall be grounded upon standards validated and adopted by the National Qualifications Authority (NQA), and in accordance with the Kosovo National Qualifications Framework.
