The preparatory process for opening two new ALE- Centers (based on the model of German Folk Schools - VHS) and the visit to Kosovo of Ms. Maja Avramovska, Regional Director of DVV International for Southeast Europe and the Caucasus.

In the two selected municipalities (Prizren and Peja), the preparatory process for the opening of two new Adult Education centers (AE) has started based on the German Folk School (VHS) model. To get acquainted with the situation on the ground and the selected partners with whom the two new ALE Centers in Kosovo will be piloted, Ms. Maja Avramovska, accompanied by Mr. Ramadan Alija, Director of DVV International office in Kosovo, met with representatives of Municipal Educational Directorates (MDA) in Peja and Prizren, and with representatives of ITP (Innovative Training Park) in Prizren.

On May 11, 2022, a meeting was held with Mr. Naser Gega, Municipal Director of education in Peja, who stated that he entirely agrees with the opening of such an AE center in Peja and is very grateful to DVV International, which will enable its launch, which is necessary for the municipality of Peja.  Mr. Gega also said that they are exploring the possibilities of providing a facility owned by the Municipality of Peja and which could be used by this center, based on the model of German Folk Schools (VHS). On May 12, 2022, a meeting was held with Mr. Hans Jürgen Cassens, Director of ITP, Prizren, who provided clarity regarding the organization of training within ITP-Prizren, and provided information on the facilities and possibility of their use and application procedures to ensure the use of a facility within ITP-Prizren for establishing an ALE Center.

Mr. Cassens welcomed this initiative from DVV International and pledged to cooperate with DVV International in implementing such a project. After the conversation with Mr. Cassens, a visit to the facilities of ITP - Prizren was maid together by Ms. Teuta Perdibuka, ITP-Prizren Project Assistant. ITP-Prizren owns the German KFOR facilities, which after reducing the number of German soldiers from the municipality of Prizren, are being used for training, education, business, and innovation purposes, and were leased to various organizations in Kosovo (with rent- monthly payment and running costs and for  maintenance of the facility). After the visit to ITP-Prizren, a meeting was held with Ms. Luljeta Veselaj Gutaj, Municipal Director of education in Prizren, who welcomed the initiative to open such an ALE Center in Prizren, and pledged to work closely with DVV International to launch this ALE center in the municipality of Prizren. Mrs. Veselaj-Gutaj stated that she would explore the possibilities together with other Municipal Directors in Prizren for granting a facility owned by the Municipality of Prizren which can be used to establish this new AE center in the municipality of Prizren.
