Representatives from DVV International – Office in Kosovo, officials from the Municipality of Peja, representatives of the NGO Local Youth Action Council – Peja (LYAC-Peja), Youth and Adult Education Centre – YALEC Peja, and the Youth Center Hareja visited the premises of the Youth and Adult Education Centre – YALEC Prizren.
The purpose of this meeting was to exchange best practices in the management, coordination, partnership, and implementation of adult education programs by YALEC Prizren, as well as to discuss the challenges and opportunities for future collaboration between YALEC Prizren, YALEC Peja, and the Youth Center Hareja in Vushtrri.
The meeting continued with presentations from the participating organizations, which showcased their programs and activities for youth and adult education.
The NGO THY presented its programs, highlighting the activities carried out within YALEC Prizren. In 2024, the center has trained up to 300 participants and offered a wide range of courses and training, including English Language, Digital Marketing, Tourist Guiding, Yoga, Communication and Presentation, Event Management, Soft Skills, and Decorative Candle-Making Workshops. With a flexible and inclusive approach, YALEC Prizren has made a significant contribution to community empowerment and remains committed to promoting lifelong learning.
At the same time, NGO- Local Youth Action Council – Peja (LYAC-Peja),presented its educational programs, emphasizing the activities taking place within YALEC Peja. So far, YALEC Peja has conducted various courses and training, including English Language, IT, Social Media Management, and Climbing. Looking ahead, the center plans to expand its course offerings with new opportunities such as Music, German Language, Italian Language, Graphic Design, and Self-Defense courses. This is the second non-formal education center in the country, aiming to empower young people and adults by providing educational opportunities focused on personal and professional development.
Meanwhile, the Youth Centre Hareja presented its educational programs for youth, which include training in entrepreneurship, information technology (IT), coding, fashion design, tailoring, career orientation, and education against violent extremism. As part of its commitment to expanding educational opportunities, the center, in collaboration with DVV International and the Municipality of Vushtrri, soon will open a new Youth and Adult Education Centre—the third of its kind in the country.
In conclusion, this meeting highlighted the need for future cooperation between YALEC centers in Prizren and Peja, as well as the potential expansion of partnerships with other organizations and institutions that can contribute to broadening educational offerings.
The importance of sharing resources and information was emphasized to create opportunities for exchanging best practices and ensuring that both young and adults have access to the wide range of courses and training provided by these centers.
