In the framework of the project for Support to NGOs involved in Adult Education in Kosovo through their Accreditation for the Implementation of the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Component in Kosovo", a promotional workshop was held on 22 November 2022, where the final report and the results of the research dedicated to identification of NGOs’ needs were presented.

The 24 participants of this informational workshop included representatives of various NGOs involved in adult education in Kosovo.

According to the authors of the research report, Merita Shala and Muhamer Hasani, the findings of the research will support the NQA and other relevant stakeholders with information required to identify the potential NGOs involved in AE as well as their needs and challenges to be included in the national qualifications system.

Shala and Hasani emphasized that it is very relevant to support the providers and NGOs in terms of institutional growth and training capacities, in order to cover the labor market demand with capable individuals and appropriate skills.

According to the findings of the research, there are several challenges faced by AE providers, the most important of which include: lack of coordination and networking in common areas and absence of funds and human capacities to conduct relevant trainings. The researchers said that the providers also face a shortage of space and equipment required to provide adequate skills so as to meet labor demands. The same added that this sector should not be considered as a burden to public institutions, but as an added value in a system that equips a significant part of the society in the country with knowledge and skills.

Further on, during this informational workshop, the experts hired to train the providers on RPL implementation, Teuta Danuza and Vehbi Neziri, provided the participants with more information on the benefits and advantages of the provision of RPL, its practitioners, involvement in RPL, legal framework, policies, cooperation with relevant sectors, etc.

Otherwise, the Support to NGOs in the Implementation of the RPL Component in Kosovo Project is implemented by the NQA, with the financial and professional support of the DVV International in Kosovo.
